About Us


Manabu means “to learn” in Japanese. Our excess returns generated from our impact investments go directly to funding K-12 school needs such as school supplies, textbooks, improving school facilities, and more.

Our community foundation is established as a 501(c)3 non-profit entity. The donations made by the public will go directly to support our portfolio of impact investments. Not only your donations go towards sustainable and socially responsible investments, the returns also go towards improving the schools in the communities that need it most.

Azusa Otawa

Chairman/Founder

Mr. Otawa has ten years of financial management experience analyzing capital investment returns for The Boeing Company, Inc. and performing company valuations at KPMG, LLC. He currently works as a Management Consultant at Kaufman Hall. He also attained his Master’s in Finance and Bachelor’s in Business Administration at Seattle University. Mr. Otawa founded the Manabu Foundation to improve the education sector while seeking returns from impact investing.

Curtis Yasutake

Board Member

Mr. Yasutake has eleven years of investment management experience. He previously worked at Russell Investments Group, LLC and currently works as a Private Equity Analyst at Pacific Current Group. Mr. Yasutake received his MBA at University of California Berkeley and holds his Bachelor’s in Business Administration at Seattle University.
